This is something I have asked myself many times since I have been collecting sindy , Here is my list of every outfit which I know can cause problems so it will help other collectors from suffering their own disasters when it comes to washing and freshening up their sindys lovely new clothes ,

When I wash sindy clothes I use cold water -- and a very mild hand washing liquid normally tescos own make silks and delicates - - it is a non bio liquid with no enzymes - a similar product would be dreft - I also use a fabric conditioner - again a gentle liquid like tescos ecover range -- just to make them smell nice -- I have found with sindy clothes -- the "Eau de Loft" smell can be strong dependant on how they were stored so the cold wash does not allways remove this but if you air them well outside after washing they are often alot fresher
care should allways be taken when trying to remove stains -- I have had a disaster with a blazer way yellow jacket - it is made from a sort of polyester type material - i put it in oxy stain remover which took out the stain but also took out the yelow colour - I have also heard of the yellow 60s ski suit doing exactly the same thing - so if you are washing these i would not recommend using a stain remover just cold water and soap and hope for the best -
| mamselle sugar and spice - pink bleeds badly and can stain the lace wash seperately in cold water - keep away from all other clothes |
| weekender top - washing not advised red runs into white |
| cosy nights dressing gown - dont wash unless you want pink lace red bleeds so badly |
| Frosty Nights pj's - care needed when washing the red bleeds |
| sloppy Joe Jumper - care needed the red bleeds |
| Ice Skater outfit - knitted items become very mis-shapen when washed |
| Ice Skater outfit - red skirt and tights do bleed red dye |
| Patch Blue nightee - dont wash blue dye runs like mad into lace |
| Country Walk Jacket - can transfer dye when wet |
| Cord trouser suit - might transfer dye when wet |
| Walker white jacket - pink edging does colour run -- dont wash |
| Mini Gear suede skirt - might run dye |
| Carefree camping -- red top bleeds into the white collar |
| Mamselle Miss Sindy Dress - dont wash red bleeds into the fur |
| Miss Mod - can fade very badly do not wash |
| Belle of Ball Dress - blue flowers can bleed very slightly |
| Bedtime Beauty - blue spots can bleed |
| Red Skater Dress - can run as its made of velvet |
| Miss Sindy velvet dress - velvet might run so care needed |
| Blazer Way Jacket - colour can bleech out if you try to remove stains |
| 70s yellow mix 7 match cotton - colour can transfer when wet |
| Blue winter coat - felt very fragile liable to rip round buttons |
| Green midi coat -- popper rust not advisable to wash |
| Turquoise hotpants - dont iron velvet can crush |
| Cosy coat -- fur can detatch but it can be re stuck back on |
| Lovely lively purple flares -- liable to fade |
| apple top - goes mis shapen if you wash it |
| Quick change - yellow top will bleed colour - I havent had any problems with skirt although it is a different material |
| Pinny party -- both liable to fade |
| Polka party - pink liable to fade |
| cook in - brown cotton can bleed a bit |
| Quickchange - the yellow top can bleed colour badly |
| Midi skirt and blouse - skirt pink cord will bleed dye |
| 78 mix match -- blue towelling top can bleed and goes mis shapen |
| Outward Bound -- yellow top the black runs badly do not wash it |
| Rock and Roller top -- liable to fade |
| Seaside Special - top goes very mis shapen if washed |
| Winter nights yellow robe - can fade and possible transfer dye |
| City shopper red/white outfit - can fade if washed alot |
| 80s gypsy Lady -- removing stains can bleach out the colour |
| 81 Coffee morning - the red on cuffs and collar can bleed |
| nostalgia - liable to fade if washed alot or left in bright light |
| Metalic mover - gold goes very dull and worn looking |
| 84 Jog Along - yellow on this bleeds very badly |
